Welcome to Tyler Primitive Baptist Church

A great number of God's children today are heavy laden with the doctrines, devices and schemes of men that keep them extremely busy with religious activities but affords them very little spiritual or physical rest. Over the years these schemes, programs, activities, and social functions of most modern day churches have just not filled the spiritual needs of many Christians. If you are seeking a church that is not man centered, but one that glorifies God, comforts your heart and feeds your weary soul, then we hope you will find it with The Primitive Baptist, who still "Stand in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls" (Jer. 6:16).

One of the evidences that a person is born of God is that he mourns over his sin, and senses his need for the Savior. Although a person of this nature feels unworthy of God's mercy, he longs for the blessings of God. If you are searching for practical teaching on family life, consistent ethical instruction from the word of God, or comfort in the message of the mercy of God, we believe you will find us refreshingly different. In the midst of a hurried and pressured society there are some proven answers to our daily needs. We warmly invite you to visit our services at any time.

Our Name

In the midst of change all around us we use the name “primitive” to identify our sincere effort to maintain the principles of truth and life exhibited in the New Testament.

Though blessed to live in this technological age the inspired word given by God answers the ageless questions of life.

Who We Are

We are a local autonomous community of bible believers. We exist to declare a great God who in His Son the Lord Jesus Christ is greatly involved in our lives now and is our only hope for eternity. Rather than our goodness for God we are trusting in his goodness towards us. Rather than our work for him we have found peace alone in His work for us.

What We Are About

We believe that God is on a mission to rescue the broken and recover the lost. The gospel massaged into hearts brings personal conversion, relational peace, and thereby cultural renewal. The gospel is good news providing hope for the hopeless, calm for the restless, and deliverance for the self-destructing. The gospel revives, renews, and restores.

What We Belive

We believe Scripture is the inspired word of God and has been preserved in the Old and New Testaments. Properly understood and interpreted it is the supreme and final authority on all matters of which it speaks.

We believe in one creator Sovereign God of all things existing in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God's Son became flesh through His virgin birth and became true man united in one Person forever. He died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of his people. On the third day He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now intercedes in behalf of his own.

Salvation is wholly dependent upon the work of God’s free grace. God credited Christ’s righteousness to his chosen when he declared “it is finished” upon the cross. The Holy Spirit applies the saving work of Christ to his children’s hearts in the life giving work of regeneration. He convicts us of sin, draws us to the Savior, indwells our hearts, guides into truth, and empowers us for service, and gives us hope of heaven.

The church is a local congregation where the Word of God is preached, the ordinances are administered, loving discipline is practiced, and sweet fellowship is maintained.

Jesus Christ will come to earth to consummate history and the eternal plan of God. Heaven and Hell are real places. We await His return when we shall be raised in glorified bodies to behold and be with him forever. “Even so, come, Lord Jesus”. Rev 22:20
